Clean Living: A TCM Approach

In today's world, "clean living" has become a popular buzzword, often associated with strict dietary restrictions and expensive products. However, clean living is more than just avoiding certain foods or using organic products. It's about making conscious choices to minimize exposure to harmful toxins and endocrine disruptors that can negatively impact our health.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offers a unique perspective on health and disease. From a TCM standpoint, toxins can accumulate in the body and disrupt the flow of Qi (vital energy). This imbalance can lead to a variety of health problems, including fatigue, digestive issues, and chronic diseases.

While it's often difficult to avoid toxins in our external environment, we can significantly influence our health by focusing on the things we can control, our everyday environment:  the food we prepare for ourselves at home, the cosmetics we use on our bodies, and the household products we bring into our homes.
In this three-part blog series, we'll explore how to practice clean living and minimize our exposure to toxins in three key areas:

  1. Avoiding Toxins in Our Diet: Discover how to make informed food choices and nourish your body with wholesome ingredients.

  2. Avoiding Toxins in Household Products: Learn about safer alternatives to common household cleaners, air fresheners, and other products.

  3. Avoiding Toxins in Beauty Products & Cosmetics: Explore how to choose non-toxic cosmetics and skincare products.

Clean living is about making informed choices to protect your health and the environment. By avoiding harmful toxins and endocrine disruptors in your everyday products, you can take a proactive approach to your well-being. Remember, small steps can make a big difference. Incorporating a holistic perspective, such as TCM, can provide additional insights into how to support your overall health and reduce the burden of toxins on your body.
